Some fishes over the weekend

Have been a bit busy and not on the forums as much this week, so here is a late report

headed downriver as per the norm and threw some vibes around (again, as per the norm lol)

found action instantly on a couple of jew in the 73-74cm range, taken on 2nd and 3rd cast respectively:

Soon after got stuck into a few decent sized vermin:

some not so decent sized vermin:

and capped the night off with a nice treddie taken halfway down the water column:

Was a pretty cold night but the wind held off well enough. I still had a bit of a cold hence the paper towels on the casting deck

all fish released and in good condition, no need to dropline the threadfin as he/she was only 5m or so down and 25lb IMX > threadfin :silly:

Cheers

Well done mate!! Epic haul. Cant get over the amount of Jew in the river. Been working my ass off for em down the coast. Even took a haul to Yamba for 3 days over the weekend to try and get stuck into some only to pull the hooks on a whopping 50cm as I was clambering down the rocks to get it. My theory is there must be way hotter female Jew in the Brisbane river cause they all seem to be up there.. :)

That was our Yamba trip mate.. It stunk! Cold, wind, rain - way too many undersize fish and a complete lack of Jew. Xav and me fished from the wall the last day - thats when I got the small Jew on a plastic. Was definately a fun trip though. Thats pretty much all I've been trying for is one of the monsters, although at the moment anything will do.. Only problem is 20-30cm live mullet can at times be a prick to come across. Smashed 4, 25cm mullet the other week but got sharked on all but one which found it's way to a snag. Fishing can be a cruel sport.

I talked your lures and fishing abilities up to Xav.. haha..

hey nadders.....sounds like a top night!! whereabouts in the water column did you pick up the tailor if you don't mind me asking?? really need to hit you up for some lures too....

i got them maybe 3m under the surface. after the couple of jew it was a bit quiet, got a hit burning the lure back after a cast near the surface so started working them a bit higher up and came tight on the tailor. the bait wasn't on the surface so no tailor action on the surface but there was quite a decent bait school being worked over midwater with the jew sitting underneath cleaning up the scraps

cheers

haha i dont mind em either mark in small doses, when im fishing for jew though i want jew, not tailor

ive had quite a few lures bitten off in the past by the buggers too :cheer:

Well done and awesome pics too. Shouldn't hurt too much loosing a couple of lures in your line of business - gotta write a few off to testing ;)

Cheers
