Has anyone had any success with Spinnerbaits in the Brisbane River/Bay/Creeks?

Was having a chat to the guys at Charltons and was suprised to hear that they occasionaly use (cheap) spinnerbaits along the rock walls and thick mangroves!

I guess it makes sense cause they are really snag proof....

I would welcome your thoughts.

I was in Coffs harbor at the harbor and I still had the bass gear in the car rigged up and was to lazy to change it. I through out a spinner bait let it sink and gave it a slow roll back in and picked up a 45cm flatty the first cast - surprised me but I guess flatty will take almost anything.

Jimmybob got a few Flatties at Bribie on them.

I have often thought about this though.

As if it would not work.

A coloured skirt and some flashy blades, youd think fish like tailor and GT's etc would be all over it.

Might try one at Straddy :)

well just a bit of feedback fellas!

I went out to mud on Saturday and on the way back I thought I would head over to the wall near Boggy, I hooked on a spinnerbait on the Pluton and started practising my baitcaster casting.

After about half an hour of nothing I was loosing heart when all of a sudden three small to medium Trevally followed the spinnerbait back to the boat.

They didn't look aggresive thow more curious....it happned twice, so I must conclude that these spinnerbaits in the salt might have some merrits. :)

i will keep trying.....my feeling is a smaller version might be the go!
