I'd hate it if anyone worked out where we catch our squire

Dennis was nearly mowed over by a big ship

But at the last second, got out of its way

And by some miracle he hooked a second fish

I caught a few too, everything worked. 5" nuke chooks, 6" snapbacks in white, 4" lime tigers. Finally got a good workout on my new dropshot rod. I like it alot. Nearly got dragged over the side when the plastic was taken on the drop(me, not the rod)

The rock monster was definitely not lurking around the ramp today

And I will call this last photo "Tom$tylz" :P

I mustve put the wrong deoderant on this morning cause they weren't playing my game. I tried all sorts of sp's without even a hit :( So after about 2 hours or so I swapped to the heavy bream gear, 4lb fins and 8lb leader coupled with a 3inch nuke chook shrimp 2nd drop and finally landed the first keeper :woohoo: 2nd fish came on a 4inch watermelon power minnow. Apart from that and a handful of tidlers not much was going on.

Tom didn't think he needed a kayak this morning :snic: so swum for his meal instead.

And as usual seabreeze got it all wrong :( And to top it off revise the predictions in the middle of the day when everyone is on the water  Aside from the conditions I got to expereince some less than average chop/swell in the yak  and the launch copping a wave which flooded the yak and all my reels  Thank fark I left the beers in the fridge last night.

wicked snapper cant wait to get a yak to get to the fishy area's realised how crap landbased fishing was today as we went around afew spots today

how much did the hobies retail for? have to add much to them? i take it you got to chuck the rod holders and sounder on them is that about it?

I got mine for $2490, they come ready to go. I've added the sounder and 1 berkley rod holder plus two short bits of 40mm to extend the back mounted rod holders. Apart from that nothing is needed to be added on. I will however be upgrading the fins and the rudder.

Ken, check your PM's

Joel, there is nowhere for the fish to bust you up out there, apart from the big beacon. So 4lb is a reasonable chance, unless a tuna or big trevally grab a hold.

i must say i am a noob i have never caught snapper, but by your pics it looks like they have got decient set of fangs, but this is not so?

Yeah seabreeze and bouy weather got it really wrong, the swell off of straddie was huge and xing the bar was about as hairy as it could get, my deckie got sick as a dog and thought we were going to die...Yesterday to some it up was friggin crap! Still it was good to be out on the water...

Joel, like Terry said, but I'll add they are like pink bream(only bigger)

Crazywalrus, I'll gladly let you take me out as a deckie on your boat :woohoo:

Webfunk, Just 200m north of Kings Beach, Caloundra

Dassa, bite me.

Ugly, the forecast looked sweet, and days that the forecast is crap I drive over Tally Creek while at work and not a ripple on the bar
