queensland Condamine and dawson river report

On Wednesday dan25 came out to chinchilla for our annual freshwater session.

If you do not want to read the report the end result was no fish but a good time.

Thursday:

THe day started very cold with me and dan getting up at 5 to hit charlies creek while the mist was still on the water. WIth alot of lures getting followed but no hook ups we decided to pack up and get ready for the night's camping.

We decided to camp out at the condamine river for a night and hopefully catch a few fish. we got out there around 2 and setup camp. We where on the water by 3 and were keen to catch some fish. we tryed all tricks to entise the lazy fish to bite. we had bait on lines and we where throwing large spinnerbatis at all the snaggs aswell. NO FISH.

anyway we set back for cam and lit the fire and tried to keep warm.

The next day we put in twice as many casts as usuall and still no fish. we are blaming the dirty water for the no fish part. the water is like coffie. how are the fish supposed to see the lures.

Saturday:

We decided to head up the the Glebe weir at Taroom for a few hours and try our luck with a nice yellowbelly or even a sarrotoga. We go there at around 9:30 to find a very muddy and slipery boat ramp. this could be fun getting the boat in. after much wheel spinning the boat was finnaly in and we set off up the dam to the sticks.

Again no fish so we headed home after 6 hours of nothing. On the way back to the ramp we finnaly found out why we dident catch anything. DAD BOUGHT THE WHOLE BANNANA SHOW WITH US

hahahaha anyway it was great fun casting at the many snags and hope to head up that way again in the very near future.

unlucky mate good work anyway i find it hard to fish especially in the dirty water out at chinchilla they just dont seem to bite

man even though you didnt catch anything it would always be good out esp with a boat like that it looks like an awesome boat just to cruise around and have a relaxing fish :laugh:

Bad luck on the fishing front boys but a good report with some good photos

Hard luck mate - on the plus side, the new rig looks good!

Should of tried some shrimps or bought a packet of prawns,I think it's too cool for the fish to be even bothered to chase a lure
