Fishing Brisbane River Mouth

Hey Guys,

Im planning on hitting the brisbane river up for a fish in the next couple of weeks.

I have never fished there, so was just after any tips people have regarding safe boating??

I plan to launch from pinkenba ramp (it is open isnt it?) and head to the mouth for an explore.

I have done a bit of a search and realise that i must stay 30m clear from any wharves and boats etc. Any maps which help explain would be appreciated...

any fishing tips would also be greatly appreciated as my goal for the winter is a legal brisbane squire/snapper. Scarby reef is giving me absolutely no luck at this stage, hence the move to the brissy river.

G'day mate and welcome to the site.

The ramp at pinkenba is closed atm but you can launch further done in boggie creek you just need to watch the tides. If you have a sounder try around the pipe line down to the mouth or try one of the whafes.

If you have a look at some of the old post's you may find some helpful tips for fishing the river good luck

cheers dassa

Ive launched my 4.2 stacer at Colmslie plenty of times, doesnt take too long to get up to the river mouth. plenty of spots too fish between colmslie and river mouth as well. Plenty of parking at Colmslie as well, especially during the week...cheers Beejay
