2 Metre Plus reds from the river

After get the call from tugger to join him out at boat rock and having to knock it back due to promising to take NO.1 daughter out for the day to target some river snapper and our hopes where high after seeing wesfish and kids with some good snapper.

We meet up with my mate ross at fisho island ramp sunday morning a the horrible hour of 06:00 and god it was bloody cold.As pernormal the dassa clan were late (yet)again after catching every traffic light between home and the ramp.(bloody cabbies)

Finaly we got under way and at spot no good just after six. After getting good fish here in the past I thought it was worth a crack, but after about 90min it was time to move.Away we go to tomca's spot X but with a wind blowing @ about ten knots and the tide on the way in and the anchor not holding we moved back up the river to the pipe line.We had not long got the anchor down and then we were moved on by some block saying that our spot was reserved by a tanker so who am I to argue. So away we go again to find fish and get this hodo of my back.so in to the whafes and looking for some sign of life.I found some ground that showed promise so out went the the baits. After what seemed like for ever and our donut still hanging around my neck and getting titer jack potthe pilly went of like a frog in a sock. After some big head shake the heart rate goes up and thinking it was big red but not to be but the smile on my daughters face said it all a nice flathead on the brag mate at 58cm and into the ice it goes then all goes quiet again. So another move and we were under way in closer to the whafes and found some good ground and hoping for more.

With old rossco wanting some action things started to improve as the tide started slowed with two squire in the boat in about 10minutes but again things stopped again as did the tide.As the tide changed it was like a switch and been put on and thing went nuts for the next hour or so.Ross was on to his first for the day and a 38cm he was a happy man at last.then as it happens the food comes out and then 3 rod come to life with in about 10seconds of each other with andrea on to her fist of the day,it was fantastic to see her work the fish but not be the fish was lost just as we got color. It wasn't long before she was on again and this 1 was on the ice in on time flat.

So the tallie for the day was 6 squire between 38 and 49 2xflathead 58cm and 52cm with about 15 under size squire going back to fight another day and best of all we left them on the bite so here's to finding them next time nice and hungry.

Thanks for reading my long winded storie and thanks to wesfish for the idea on the title of the post just to wind up the big elicat :P:P photo's to follow latter. thanks tomca.

Yeah. Good onya Dassa and Wes  :P Fair dinkum I keep holding my breath waiting for the pics in all these threads to reveal themselves :pinch:   To make things worse I've exceeded my download quota for the month and they've slowed me down to dial-up speed so the pics take forever. (Don't say anything Master Sardines  )

It's like a close Origin game when Qld are hanging onto a 2 point lead. Some of the older blokes will remember back to those days (hey Dassa) :P

I hope they keep biting this week when I get my young fellas out once or twice.

Number 1 daughter looks well pleased Dassa, as does that funny bloke with the flatty.

good on ya Dass, great story its great to see how many kids are taken out by their parents fishing on this site healthy pastime not like some kids that spend their lives on computers and watching the idior box, like the BFC add says "Thats not living Josh"
