Fraser Island Reports

Recommended Posts

With high expedtations We headed up on Wednesday to fish fraser. With beautiful weather and the report of a few good fish being caught we were all excited . We traveled up to the mahino and started to search for gutters to get a few taylor which we soon hooked into on spinners ( raidars 85g) with a few nice choppers. Ended up driving up to Indian for a look but soon returned down to the previous gutter for a night and dawn fish. Early Thursday morning in the brisk air I hooked a cracker greenback on a pillie easy going 6lb and a few choppers to follow . My father being fluky as he is got up late and strolled down to land some nice choppers aswell as a 85cm jew. The rest of the day we played around with the mass numbers of dart for a bit of sport as the taylor got scarce. I turned my attention to plastics of Indian and what every coffee rock i could find along the beach. Plastic's off Indian turned out great Running 2inch shrimp just above the reef bottom we managed to snag some cracker bream an abundence of moses plenty of flathead and ripper motherinlaw. The coffee Rock We found also produced great flathead (If your heading up i recomend a 9gram jighead with size 2 hook with 4inch minnow) This worked a treat as we caught some great flathead. All in all a great trip the taylor were'nt as plentiful yet as previous years but are sure to come on strong in the following months.
