7 nights at somerset /end up being 11

so left for Somerset Saturday 26/6.

end up being a late setup for us with every1 else all ready there and set up,nothing like a in the dark setup.

why was it a late 1 well cause i spent Friday and Saturday finishing off the van .

the women had made the new canvas and col's bro built a new roof and stuff .

which i had to seel and finish off ,but all good got it done and off we went .

we where meant to come home Sunday the 4/7 but end up staying on till Wednesday 7/7.

so here are some pictures .

5 family's at camp .

by the next weekend 1 fam went home with another replacing them .

our van after the upgrade.

every1 else went home at day 8 ,then there was 2 family's .

kids entertaining them selves .

local entertainment ,red claw races .

the old boys fire ,heap of coals for the camp oven .

the kids fire,cause after the first night the old boys could not handle the racket .

a bush birthday ,with bush made cake .

after i 1/2 sunk the canoe .

no grog was drank before the pictures was taken ,just me being silly and having fun .

so all in all a top camping trip ,so good we stayed a extra 4 nights .

sort of my norm ,not real fussed on coming home .

didn't really fish ,did about 2 or 3 hrs .

first 3 day we dropped the pots in the river but 8 red claw a check ,got over it .

had a peep who was back in bris grab the motor,so we could hit the dam up .

bit better than with 45 to 65 red claw every check of the pots .

no big more piss more piss nights ,just family fun and good times .

all us boys where on rashions ,trying to make the grog last .

back in Brisbane a day and a bit and i'm ready to sell up and move on .

good report dave looks like you had a ball,everyone having fun just what holidays are all about get many redclaw and fish

great report davo and the pictures supurb i guess they were from missus davo's camera, looks like heaps of fun for kids and bigger kids alike

Must be catching Davo - we also stayed on a bit longer than planned. The youngest said "we could live here" :laugh: ...my thoughts exactly - same as you lol

...but then again maybe it's the thought of packing up more than a dislike of home :laugh: :laugh:

got over that pretty quick and got mate to grab the motor on the way up .

then hit the dam up.

first spot area for 3 days ,getting about 90 a day .

but a lot of smaller red claw .

so changed location .

next 3 days about 90 a day ,but nice big ones

i did count them but can't remember exact numbers .

i know it was a lot ,as mick would cook them took 4 pots .

then i would de-head and peel them ,took me about 2 hrs each time .

after doing that for 9 days ,i'm over red claw for a bit .
