Jarvis walker braid

Just got back from late night shopping,was in kmart and came accross a braid.

Jarvis walker hercules braid that is banded with different colours.

Im intrested in 30lb.@ $40.

Question

Is the jarvis walker braid any good.

Is the bands of colour a good advantage for depth finding/bottom bashing.

i whould not get it cause you can get fins braid at bcf for the same price

and the bands of color are so you know how deep your lure or bait is

If you can get something else (like fins) for the same price & breaking strain, then get it.

If you really need to get the braid on your reel and go fishing, then it will do the job for you, for a certain period of time.

I put some 6lb Hercules on my first ever lure setup. It did the job, i didnt mind it at all, in fact i only recently replaced it (with fireline). I personally prefer a 'stiff' braid (like fireline) as opposed to a 'soft' braid (eg. Varivas, sunline).

The Hercules did the job for me for a good while, but it did start to wear a bit and get a bit fluffy.

it did hold a good knot though, i dont recall ever having aknot pull, but yeh the longevity could be the limiter for you.

Could be a classic case of "buy cheap and replace it twice, or pay a bit more and dont replace it at all"

i have the Hercules 6lb braid atm. its the first braid i have owned so i cant really compare however i have found exactly what yoyo said. the line goes fluffy easily, so i find my self cutting the end couple of meters off before every trip.

it fades really easily, though i havent noticed it getting weaker due to this.i have had it on for about a year now and it is still going strong.

all in all its a good braid but i think its over priced. probably cas its at kmarts only braid
