New Jetty, surf and rock combo

Evening all,

After selling my T-Curve 2-5Kg rod and my Stradic CI-4 to move on to bigger and better things, I decided to go and have a 'browse' around Tackle Warehouse Cooparoo...

After some 'browsing'..

Walked out with a Daiwa SeaJigger 325 Spin rod, 15-30 Pound rated, teamed up to a Daiwa Saltit 4500H. Feels great, and can't wait to get it out onto the jetties at night.

Spooled with mono and a topshot of 150 yards of FINNS braid..

B)

So much for that Browsing...

cant wait to see some results. I love the feel of these rods, I am looking at the 315 med-light 8-17. still saving. let us know how you find the casting ability of this rod, you should get megga distance with that combo.

give me a bell. I would like to tag along for a flick, beach or rocks is my favorite.

north shore noosa between river mouth & double island is one of my fav fishing/camping destinations. good tailor, dart, trevs, & other pelagics off the rocks at D.I. enjoy.

Took it out for a burl last night, casting from Wellington Point Jetty into a 20 knot wind. Casting distance was still pretty good, and the rod is just too sensitive. I literally saw what looked like the hit from hell on a whole pillie, only to find, after checking the bait, it was only small bream picking the eyes from the pillie.. B)

Angus, intended targets atm are jew and small sharks, snapper etc from the jetties and pelagics from the rocks. Also planning a bit of beach fishing with this setup, although the 30 Pound braid would be overkill I believe on a dart

Katfish, the rod feels great to use and is super sensitive for a rod of it's size and rating. Distance was pretty good, although I was casting into the wind and only had a few smaller sinkers in the kit at that time. I've never been fishing around D.I, so it would be great to go for a flick with someone who knows the area. :woohoo:

might have to organise something in the next month or so

Felix

for sure m8. good time of year for tailor & what not.

you mention the sensitive tip on the 325. got me thinking, I had one loaded up to test at Charletons bait/tackle & thought too heavy, I was leaning towards the med/light version. still undecided. btw, if you don't mind me asking, where did you get it & how much.

Mine seems pretty sensitive for a 'heavy'actioned rod mate, but if you intend to do a lot of surf stuff for dart, tarwhine etc i'd say go lighter for sure. Mine is mainly for jew, small sharks, snapper and pelagics, also heavy breakwall and some popping work.

I picked mine up from Tackle Warehouse Cooparoo, got both the Saltist 4500H and The Seajigger 325 for $620 I believe

Seajigger 325. Note lack of grips, super fine EVA. Really comfy actually

Which comp ya mean there mate? Know of a few coming up. Unfortunatley, pics are pretty dodgy, don't do it any justice.

Not too sure on Thurs night, I'm pretty strapped till next week as I'm also in the process of fully renovating a 25 foot caravan. Have to get miss Munchkins'gear soon too. Maybe in the next fortnight or so?
