Leader to braid mate and always keep in contact with ya bait that should stop any tangles. Albrite knot to tie leader to braid, well thats wat i use anyway,.

swivels are fail mate, think you might be getting wind knots because when fishing sp's you wind in a lot with no pressure on the line causing it not to come back onto the spool perfectly.

i could be wrong though, but in any case just use your fingers to put a little tension on the line when ur winding up a bit of slack maybe it'll help

for lure fishing just use a knot to tie your leader to mainline - like a double uni for example

What braid are you using mate? Could have something to do with the wind knots. Congrats on the first by the way !

nice work mate,

with the tangles/wind knots, if you dont want to put pressure on the line with your fingers every time you wind in, try casting out as far as you can and then winding it back at high speed, the tension running it through the water at high speed is enough to keep the line at bay. Usually do it every 10 casts or so. + u never know if theres any trevs or tailor around that might take it. Good luck for next time.
