How to tie a Stinger Hook for SPs

Hi Guys & Gals

I have been trying to find a method for tying a stinger rig to a soft plastic jig head. I have not found anything online. I have started with a snell knot to attach the line to the hook however I have a few questions from then on.

1. do I attach the stinger line to jig head hook

2. do I attach the stinger line to jig head eyelit

3. do I attach the stinger line to leader

4. Depending on what is best what knot will I use.

hey, i tried putting on a stinger hook a while ago but gave up cas it just gets too messy and i ended up with heaps of snags, i ended up just up sizing the jig head at the suggestion of nadders and it worked a treat

Yeah I've tried it. I attached the stinger hook line to the jighead eyelet using 20lb. Worked well.

thanks guys - been getting a lot of tail hits of late and think the stinger may help.

What are you targeting Ted?? also what plastics are you using??

Flatty and Bream.

2 & 3 inch berkley gulp shrimp for bream

5 inch Gulp jerk shad for flatty.

Most of the tail hits have been the flatty.

I have a 6 size stinger for the bream

i wonder if it would increase the amount it gets snagged since the hooks point down

yes caught about 7 flatty myself and returned 4. Caught I do not know how many under size Taylor and eventually left there to chase bigger fish in the river as I was running out of gulp plastics because I was being tailed all the time. The River was dead. Wrong tide.

Hi Joel I saw a demonstration of them at the tinnie & tackle show and they had them rigged so that all hooks faced up. I reckon they're alright
