rod holders

looking to upgrade my rod holders to mount on the rails. i currently have snap-loc ones which aren't too bad but not as good as i thought considering the price. would like them to suit thinner lure rods, quick strike would be nice particularly for trolling. don't like the rotating collar locking mechanism.

any ideas which won't break the budget.

This depends on what you are fishing for, barra have been known to rip rod holders out of boats. If bait fishing then the quick release ones are OK but I wouldnt troll with them as they seem to work well when the fish pulls straight down but not when the fish pulls backwards when trolling. Its like everything to if you want good quality you have to pay for it.

I have 2 Berkley Quick Set Fishing Rod Holders on my rails and have been fine for bait fishing and trolling. Just gotta make sure they are set at the right angle for whatever style fishing you are doing. Not sure if they have what you call the rotating collar locking mechanism but you can get them for about 30 bucks.
