Hey guys and girls,

Just had the urge to go on a GT spree this weekend but don't know where to start..

Does anyone know which spots would be the best (don't have a boat unfortunately)?

Im also really keen to use lures (poppers, slugs or Sp's) so which would do the damage?

Thanks, Rob

nice catch...

taylor are good fun too, experienced that at fraser island off indian head last year, but there is just something about the GT's that catches my attention, as i have never caught one before and heard they are a great fight on a pretty light set up..

Might hit up BCF and blow $50 and pick up a couple slugs, a popper and some metal blades.

If you can be bothered (its prob easier than driving down the coast anyway) walk onto a car ferry heading to dunwich and then just catch one back when you feel like it.

Most consistant place I have seen for land based GT's and the odd kingy.

Not all are that small either!

yeahh i had a look before posting this and there are a few great posts but nothing specific.

I heard there were a couple of big eyed trev's caught at the mouth of the brizzie river as well but was just wondering what i should use specifically and where a the most successful spot would be a little closer to home.. but thanks Angus ill keep looking

Sorry but to be honest, GT's, especially land based are just not a close to home fish.

Even the GT's/Big Eyes caught around the River Mouth are

a: 99% boat based

b: Caught as by catch targeting squire and other things.

c: Probably fairly dictated by the bait schools that tend to turn up around the wharves.

Dunwich is just a quick trip to Cleveland and then a 45 boat ride and aside from the spit down the coast is pretty much as close to home as you can get with any sort of certain chance (which is never certain :P ).

These fish are not a highly respected awesome target fish becuase they are easily accessible and easy to catch mores the pitty.
