im no expert on wello point point but id reccomend throwing out some livies. mullet herring etc. simply hooked once through the back above the spine with a running ball sinker as small as the tide will allow for. try doing this an hour or so either side of the turn of the tide preferrably at night time. hope this helps

Wellington point has a huge resident population of pike, which make great live and cut baits mate. I've been smoked a few times out there on light gear using slabs of FRESH caught pike, and from memory that was on a rising tide at night.

The lights now work there by the way, so it isn't like fighting your way through pea soup mists and more.

Live bait at night - End of the jetty, under the lights. Can't go wrong

I use a snelled 2 hook rig for strips, normally around the 5/0 mark, as for the livies, a single behind the head above the spine or twins with the second above the tail should do fine.

I'm thinking of heading out myself on the weekend, let us know how ya go if you head out
