on sunday had a mate come over in his boat because he couldn't fit a big snapper in his little esky and asked if i could keep it in my esky till the end of the day. with little to show for my effort all day it was tempting to say what fish when he asked for it back.

what would you say or do?

Seriously? I have eaten a few 80's and 90's and struggled to find the difference. Mind you I have had a few in the 60's that weren't crash hot either. I reckon its more to do with the individual fish and what condition its in.

i think there should be regulations on all fish for the bigger sizes only because they are the breeders. but yes it is a nice snap. good work

near the group Dom it was his first time out there and his first go at floatlining which i described to him just before he followed me over the bar, he was very happy you would have heard him from stradie

Like a good skipper looking after everyone else but it was just a shame it didn't end up with one of us but you could here them scream like a banchie for mile's maybe thats what brought the whale's around with a call like that,thanks for a good day out even though we had to put up with kreel all day :laugh: :laugh: so here's to next time and see you friday for that beer we didn't get to

in all fairness I believe you should have at least taken one fillet off the snapper and given it back. seems fair after all the ice it would have used to keep it cool and fresh!

he is a good mate and this was all just tongue in cheek but i did stir him up a little bit and was happy to see him get a top fish as i know he has never got to many snapper over legal let alone one of this size
