Fishing Woodgate

Bait Waster

Recommended Posts

Hi all just new to the site & reading furiously to have a crack at the river as I've just got a 3.5m vnose punt. I'm really looking forward to dragging it up to Woodgate for our anual holiday at the end of the year & was wondering if any members can give me advise about what to fish for & where to find it up there?

(Can Tell I'm a newbie as I origanally posted this in the wrong catagory :S )

You must have good hands to catch them jeff - they're all very slippery afterall   Who was throwing them at you ?

Welcome aboard Bait Waster. I'm like Angus and have never fished there. However I've read a few reports from members and I've seen similar questions posted here.

If you go to the Forum menu page and troll through (or search) the "Going Fishing Noticeboard" and the relevant "Fishing Reports" area you should stumble across some decent info while you're waiting for others to reply :)

Thanks for the greetings. That's a fair bag Jeff. Whereabout do you do your fishing if you don't mind asking & what time of the year do you go up there?

We've been going there for years now & fishing beach, Theodolite Ck & Walkers Point. Mostly off the bank but have used a canoe the last couple of years. Between me & the boys we've caught bream, whiting, flathead, butter bream & cod (& of course toad fish & rays) but not a lot of quality or quantity. I'm hoping the boat opens a lot more possibilities.
