Weekend or Weekly permit for North Pine D

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

Just wondering, is there a way to get a week end or weekly permit to fish on the water for NP? Last time I checked, (about 3 yrs ago) I had to pay nearly $200 for a yearly, and they didnt offer anything smaller.

Always wanted to take the Yak on there, but still not willing to pay that much just for a few trips every year!

Cheers

I agree, the $100 does seem alot when you only get to fish the dam sporadically. Last year I only managed to get there twice.

The problem with weekly or monthly permits is policing and administration if I'm not mistaken. You need to show your permit and have a key to open the gate to the ramp. Maybe a deposit type system for the key.

Would be good though for us occasional types.

Or offer to provide tea/ coffee/cake/rum to a permit holder perhaps.

My $0.02

The boating access scheme is managed by the PRFMA, a volunteer scheme. Access to the site is not just about access to a key and license. As part of the access you are required to sign a deed of agreement and to do this you need to attend a 1 hour meeting where you go through the scheme and your responsibilities. This would not be feasible for temporary permits. Honestly I have a permit for the first time this year and I have only used it twice. I do not believe it is too expensive as the fees go back into funding the restocking so you can catch more fish. If you use it only 5 times for the year that is only $20 per visit. I really do not think that is too much to pay for a dam that is so close to most of us.

If you feel it is too much for you than there are quite a few member here that have permits and can probably take you out.

Thats the thing its not that close to me, if it was I'd def buy in as Id use it more.

So if someone else is a member or has a permit I can go with them?

I know it probably told me on the site Ray advised, but there's too many words and not enough pictures :P

Gee I wish I lived only 50ks away I travel 80ks each way 3 times a week.

I live lessw than ik from the salt and hardly ever go there because I do not know of any other place in SEQ where I can consistently catch fish. I live equally distantly from Hinze ( Yes plenty of fish but smaller size and still patchy fishing) Wivenhoe ( Forkies) and NPD and NPD wins hands down.

NPD is incredible fishing and considering it's location I think that makes it better.

I was there the other day and we only managed 3 bass but the best went 52cm.

The 70 odd huge redclaw were even better though. :cheer: :cheer:

Well worth every cent of the $100 permit plus SIPs permit.
