How to Waste a Morning,with a Small Cost

Yesterday arvo decided to do a maintenance check on my box trailer.In the 3 weeks since I`ve last used it,some lowlife had chiselled off my compliance plate.

So this morning off to the local Dept.of Transport office I go.

Take a ticket and have a seat,3/4`s of an hour and $5.70 later I have a bare compliance plate.Now to find someone to engrave VIN no.,Tare/ATM wgts,etc on to the plate.

4 stops/enquiries ,40 minutes driving around looking for someone who can do it today,not tomorrow,30 minutes wait and $27.95 later I have a new compliance plate with the relevant details on it.

Home,new plate is a different size to the original,out with the drill,pop riveter etc.All done.

Thanks to the lowlife`s of the world for a needless waste of my time.

Lesson learnt,maybe spoilt dogs should sleep outside at night,nah.

Hindsight after I cooled down tells me I should have gone to local police station and borrowed their engraver and did it myself.

Ok thats my whine for the month.

what do they gain from taking your compliance plate?

that sucks man there are some real mongrels out there

Someone has knocked off a trailer and needs a Vin to register it. Hopefully QTransport have flagged it so that when dingbat goes in to register it tha bells go off.

Should have called in to the station, could have set you up in a room with an engraver and even knocked you up a brew ;-)
