Took my daughter and friend out on sunday morning to the seaway,had some small livies in the well and a couple of 2-4kg rods ready 8lb braid and 6lb fluro leader.Dropped the fist livie and with minutes my daughters ( Lexie ) rod bent over and braid was ripping off the reel,boats were stopping to see what she,d hooked,the rod was doubled over and she was struggling.She managed to boat the beast after easily a 10min fight a shark, black tip shark i think.She was over the moon,he was hooked in the corner of the mouth and not a mark on the leader,amazing.

I managed a trevally on a gulp 3inch minnow.

I am a novice so I will say, black tip reef shark or some kind of whaler.

The fish species is a Cale Cale
