AFter giving my Caldia a solid test run catching HUGE pike B) , although it wasn't the bream I was hoping for, I'm beginning to look at upgrades, more specifically the RCS finnesse drag adaptor available from daiwa.

Has anyone had any experience with these parts, or know exactley how they work?

Also, will they fit my 2506 Caldia condisering the odd dimensions of the airspool setup?

Before I get flamed. I chose the Caldia over the Luvias etc for personal preferance reasons, and I just think it felt more solid.

You may flame now B)

I just thought the drag seemed a little 'sticky?

Maybe not enough grease on the washer form the factory?

Does the adapter give you the ability to increase/decrease the drag in micro clickie thingies? Sorry, I don't know the correct terminoligy. My CI-4 had a micro click adjustable drag, and I loved it

nope. still same clicks. prob better if u upgrade drag disc first to tournament drag. the adapter is ment to give you more fine tuning. but i upgraded this in my steez and felt little change. maybe the steez has fine tuning already. this is my thoughts of the adaptor lol so yeah. maybe it would feel better on caldia.

I own a caldia 3000 and stradic ci4 2500, I have just finished greasing them and I am feeling them now after you described the drag. They both have minute clicky feeling drag adjustment, with the caldia drag feeling much more awesome than even the ci4 which is still good. Maybe the drag system is different on your size caldia but that doesnt sound right that you arent happy with the caldia drag, mine has the best drag of any of my reels

It may of been due to the fact that the reel was still fairly new, pretty much straight out of the box.

I gave it another good run today under the Coomera river M1 overpass throwing ghostblades, and was smoked on 4 Pnd Rockfish P.E, did the stupid thing by palming the spool slightly too hard. Would of been a nice fish too

The drag seemed fine today, although I remeved a slight bit of excess grease from the top of the drag system. Don't worry, it still has plenty, it just seems to of collected there.

Still considering the adaptor and a few other custom bits, will see soon enough
