Wind makes it hard

Got out with a few mates over the weekend and chased some fish offshore the bar was flat but 10 minutes further on it got very lumpy. We trvaeled a few hundred meters in this slop then nestled in behind the rock in the flat water that you get with the wirlpools created by the current rapping around the rock. With the usual rig floated down in the burley trail the fish were on the bite briefly as i predicted around the tide change but it didn't last long. We persisted on and had some unstopables grab the odd bait along with lots of undersize snapper, meanwhile the whales put on a terifict show. They were leaping out of the water very close, tail slapping for 10 minutes at a time a 2 passed right under the boat. The next tide change saw another run of fish then it was time to call it a day with a good feed in the box we set off and found the bar again flat during our run home. IMG_2244.JPG

Ripper size cod for a feed. Do you reckon the "unstoppables" were relatives ?

PS Do the whales put the fish off ?

the cod and moses perch have to have 1 side fin removed but not the snapper, there is a list with the dpi on what fish have to be clipped and remember for mackerel season spanish macks also need clipping
