Boat ramp for fresh water

Hello all,

Does anyone know if there is a boat ramp for access above the wier in the brissy river. Ive only yak'd the fresh part so never needed or looked for a ramp before.

Any info would be good

you can launch the yak further upstream at Kholo bridge, it's not exactly a ramp, but there is like a sandy bank with a carpark which is easily accesible.

Yeah im hoping for more of a ramp for a small boat. Im probably selling the boat soon so im just going to use it in fresh untill i do sell her.

oh ok, i'm not sure if if there is any ramps other than colleges, I could be wrong though..

What kind of boat you selling mate?

its a 4.2 aussie whaler. Going to miss her but I just dont use it enough.Im hoping to buy another yak or canoe to replace her. As im so close to the wier ill get more use out of that then the whaler

I put my tinnie in at twin briges its not a ramp but it was easy even with a 2wd

twin bridges is good.

another gravel ramp good for little flat bottom craft is at the bridge on E Summervilles rd runs off pine mountain rd that runs off brisbane valley hwy.its a bit shallow to start off from the ramp and you can only go up stream becase there large rocked rapids down stream 20mtrs.(I have only ever reversed down to the water in a fourby but have seen others do it with a falcon easy.)

i have backed a small trailer down on the ipswich side of kholo left hand side facing bridge about a year ago was a bit tight though and the river upstream gets a bit shallow in places and also narrow with strong flow before opening up very wide

kholo can be done, but remember only go up stream as no public access downstream. twinnies is good i used my laser and it was good. there are some other natural ramps along the river below wivenhoe but private property and need permission to use.
