queensland Landbased Threadfin today

Took a friend out fishing today, only netted 4 prawns but decided to sit it out in hope of a fish.

Mate sadly had no luck but I landed a 90cm TF on a 1-3kg Gary Howard spin rig.

Quite a good setup.

Fish was kept so my mate could have a feed of fish, the arvo was pretty fun all round.

St Lucia mate, not a lot of access but there are a few spots you can get to via the road or walk track that produce fish at the right times.

besides live shrimp and few other lures, Threadys also LOVE the cheap kmart super frog lures. There is a specific colour that tends to attract them like ants to spilt coke. Just gotta know what colour to get!

I think they appear in the Pine River at times but Brisbane river is the place to go for Threadfin Salmon.

good fish trouty. i wouldnt be surprised if theres more in the pine than we think, logan has a few. nicer scenery anyway i'll have to do some trips north and south for a change

Not my first, I have caught a lot of these but have never cracked one on a lure

and have not caught one over the 1 meter mark.

I think I may have to try this area for lures, although I have not had any luck on lures there to date.

sorry my bad but its a nice fish anyhow they go well at that size, if you whant to catch them on lures you know where to find the threadybusters
