Where to get some Live bait this sat

Hi, dose anyone know where i can get some live Mullet, or Herring, for shark bait anywhere from redcliffe to Shultz Canal, this weekend i am using a bait jig

a cast net would be your best bet me thinks....burley up (bottom not surface) then wait 5 minutes or so then throw the net over the burley bomb....as to where to do it....not sure up around those parts.....landbased or boat?

If you're not a castnetter and don't get anything jigging or trapping etc, try catching a cattie

( < 30cm ). Put the hook/s back from the dorsal spine.

Mate - I have been down Pine River and hit the feeder creeks for some poddies with moderate success. Also, down the creek adjacent Dohles Rocks Boat Ramp holds some prawns and poddies at certain times. Have not been there for a while though. Tough job land based.

I agree with zano's comments for need of a good mono cast net. Good luck

cashes crossing at albany creek always has heaps of mullet, cant really use your jig there but if you use a size 10 hook with a mixture of cotton buds, flour and water and burley them up you could catch them that way

its fun but it takes a while and can get really frustrating

Hi, i had a go getting some live bait but no success so had to use fresh mullet got no sharks just two ells one going 110cm and the other going 145cm

I have read many times before sharks love eel!! maybe wack them on next time if you dafre to handle them

I'm pretty sure it's the freshwater variety of eel that sharks go bananas for. The ones you caught mate, were they freshies or pike eels?

Also, I agree with the comments regarding the little catties. They make great shark baits, just make sure the 2nd hook is down near the tail. Bullies have a habit of biting catties in half

woody point jetty you can get herring sometimes but you can burley up garfish and pike they should go ok as bait castnet would definitely be the way to go

Pike will also hit any minnow style diving lure or metal/plastic/blade... pretty much anything really. Contrary to popular belief, they can be fairly fragile but.

Plenty of them at Wellington Point, as well as hardyheads, but that's a bit to far south for you?

not sure but I think they where talking about freshwater eels

off the shorncliffe pier should produce a few herring and pike on a jig, try berleying up area ur fishing. and try puting a small bit of flesh on each jig hook and watch how much more bait u get.
