Tacklebox and I went there a couple of months ago with our yaks - beware of the tidal speeds! We were washed out so quickly that we had to walk the yaks back along the shore. This was our first trip so I don't have any recommendation as to where to go but I would imagine going out of the river is the bet. We were also plagued with very stiff winds.

Good luck, I hope you have a great time and plenty to report on your return.

Thanks boys. Will watch the green zones. I feel a bit like a traitor because whilst researching Burrum, best advice from the web says join Fishntales forum, which is the Hervey Bay equivalent of AFO. So I did. Very similar to AFO and same sort of characters. Hopefully be able to bag quite a few and will post when I can. Cheers

Hey Mate fished Burrum a fair few times in the past.....2nd boat from the mouth 1m+ flattie, queenies on live pike(pike caught on little plastics around the holes at the boat ramp).Towards the mouth walk the flats along the channel markers between 1st and 2nd marker on the low tide Bream, Mackrel, Sole. Straight across from 2nd boat ramp to the "black bank" fish channel for tailor on pillies in the afternoon/night also trevally up river up around mangroves. mouth of the trumpiter creek for flattie if your into your Plastics 4inch p/seed berkly is deadly on flatties. If you have a boat and the time you have to visit the Isis up past buxton hole allow a day and the fuel and watch out for rocks around buxton good luck Ps The locals arnt much help
