Alert For The Brisbane River

got an alert from brisbane harbour control on the radio last night while i was at work for flood waters bringing down debris over the next few days in the brissy river mariners were advised to procede with caution while navigating the river, some large logs could be just under the surface with a lot of fresh coming down. i'd say they have the flood gates open at somerset and wivenhoe dams with them already at 100% be careful if your heading out this week

i new that was on the cards mark,and heard reports that the sunny coast got over 200mm last thursday night

Last time I was out at the port, it was a big tide and I picked up a full size painter's plank that was floating just under the surface.It was in good nick too, once it dried out:cheer: There was also lots of other timber floating around. Would be a bit deadly at night.

Beware indeed !! During the 1974 flood a friend of the family came home to his house in Indooroopilly and as they opened the front door the back wall of the house fell into the Brissy, taking his Steinway piano out towards the bay. The piano was worth the same value as 4 blocks of land at Cleveland at the time
