queensland Shrimping at Goodna

Went down for a castnet at goodna today for about 15 mins. In about 3 cast i got about 15 shrimp, 3 prawns, 4 bream( undersized) and 2 bait fish. I had one Cast net after that and i hit jackpot, :woohoo: About 20 shrimp!. It took me longer to get all the shrimp out of the net then actualy casting. I hope i can get a thready tomorrow morning!

Good luck with it mate. Why don't you just use some operah house traps, much easier.

watch out if you are throwing a cast net into fresh water

What do u mean Dinodadog? Goodna is tidal.

Yeah def tidal there. The regs restrict you throwing a castnet in non-tidal waters.

Welcome to the site Danz93. I was just at the boatramp casting onto the mud on the side of the ramp. I forget what my net is called but it has pockets on the end. I think they are called Cherabins (shrimp). but not sure.

could you give me the road that the boatramp was on and did you cast during high tide? sorry im quite new to fishing

The street name is noel kelly drive of brisbane Tce. It was dead low when i went. I sometimes use the shrimp pots, at the peak of high or low is best. I think. but u get them all the time,

I went down there tonight, out of 14 casts i caught 3 prawns and a small cod. and it was just after low tide too and it started to raise up pretty quickly, i should try going down there before low tide next time, but i know its got potential
