dead barra in the Boyne

Well I lived - I was more worried about sharks than crocs allthough I was a bit concerned with both but I kinda figured with all the dead barra around I wold be sort of safe.

The dam was still overflowing so the water was running too fast to paddle up stream. A bloke turned up in his tinny and took off up to pick up some crab bait. He said there are hundreds of dead barra in trees, on the banks and in weeds. He collected so many that he had to ditch some at the launch site.

There are no small one (70cm) just all big ones that look like they died from internal bleeding.

THere was no sign of life in any form, no bait, no break ups, no nothing so I better find another spot until things return to normal.
