Annoying Little Leak

Hey All

My tinnie has developed an annoying little leak - about 5 litres an hour or so when the boats is still and a bit more after moving along at speed.

I have taken evevything out and filled the bottom of the hull with about 60mms of water and checked underneath but cannot find anything

Any tips or tricks to fining a leak?

And any ideas who to take it to to get fixed (if it needs welding of course)

Cheers

Sounds like you will need to keep filling it up as the leak must be higher up. My Stacerdeveloped a crack in the transom so it was welded up and soon returned as once the alloy is welded it becomes brittle and the constant flexing work hardens the metal and it will crack again. I repaired it with sikaflex and never had any more problems.

I had the same problem with an old stessl 12 footer. I took everything out of the boat and climbed in at the ramp while it was still on the trailer ( to make sure I didn't put wet feet in the dry hull). I then got my mate to push it off the trailer while I watched for leaks. They were easy to find. Pay particular attention to the base of the transom.
