i had the pleasure of starting the new year at the noosa river. we tried lures for 3 hours before the decision was made to fish live baits and fresh dead baits cause the water was flowing out tea tree colour, we were lucky enough that it was the last of the run off. we threw the net for a heap of silver biddies and made our way to the mouth of the noosa river. to start off we got catties :( then the flatties came out to play with a few good 60cm+ ones, ass the sun set michaels last bait was hammered, his 10lb braid was screaming out towards the breakers at the bar. so i pulled the anchor and give chase and done the beest to give the best line angles using the boat. i thought monster jew for ages as it was solid with strong runs. 30 mins later and i gaffed i nice 170cm shovelnose. i know its bleeding but a minor flap wound a few pics and released, i great effort by michael on such light line for such a big shovel. we camped the night and headed back out the mouth in the morning. i jusst closed my eyes when the rod screamed, a nice solid fight and a beautiful pennant fish was boated, my pb pennant

so far, went hard the lil fella, quick release and new livie and next cast didnt even get to puit the rod inthe holder and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz another nice 60cm+ flattie. we caught heaps of good bream to 30cm but no pics and a heap of 45-55cm flatties for a feed. was just another part of my holiday which consisted of sharks, flatties trevs , yellas, bass. successful holiday of fishing . considering the not so good floods going on that stopped us from wurma, coolmunda, glen lyon which were the original plans, but no way i was crossing fflood water with my 2 precious children in the car.
