wish they'd put up same signs at the seaway ... lost pretty much a spool to a jetski ... spotted it coming mid cast ... best efforts to shorten cast ... ended up pretty much in front of the jetski ... jetski didn't stop ... used hand to wave it out way, then shot off into the distance ... before i could get the scissors out from my pocket, few strands left before backing was showing ...

Bummer if your using expensive braid.I had a similar experience casting lures off the rocks up in Bowen years ago.The only difference was the jetski was a bloody great manta ray.Foul hooked it and before I could cut him off he took off and spooled me in seconds.

Unfortunatly Wayne, the area where this is ,is a free for all for P.W.C. I know there are plenty of locals who use the South Pine river that are sick of these people having no regard for any other craft on the water.I fish off a kayak up there and they will race past one after the other doing 25-30 no worries. The creek is 30 metres max and I'm anchored in the middle.I wonder if they would like it if I raced a 2 stroke dirt bike up and down there street.Perfectly legal but a pain in the arse.

Yea mate, have been doing that.Bit hard but when they have the run of the river [ water skiers as well] from the main section of the Pine all the way to the Bald Hills ramp. That's a pretty big stretch of water that I and anyone else should be entitled to use without them making it a dangerous place.I'm all for sharing, but the majority of these twatts have no regard for anyone else using the river.Because I'm not in a $20,000 ski boat or on a $10,000 jetski ,does that mean I shouldn't be there?.

Thanks for the input guys.I guess what it comes down to is common courtesy.I can't afford to run a boat at present so the "yak" is a cheap alternative for me to have a fish and enjoy the water.I think the $100 permit to fish North Pine Dam this year is looking good.Peace and quite.
