After spending Saturday doing this

the following morning a couple of strangers (some stranger than others) followed me down to a spot I sussed out on the way to the dam.

We soaked some unweighted worms and found a fish or two

Fisherman X with his biggest for the morning

Then Fisherman X hooked up on a monster eel and I called dibbs on it for TerryH's shark bait but the eel was too much for X to handle

Dassa even got in on the action, and suprised everyone by actually catching a fish all by himself!

KAF found the sweet spot and pulled a couple

Then to show us how its done, he hooked a 5lb leaping saratoga that took off and bricked him in a snag, then when he finally netted it, it had metamophisized into another crap :pinch:

Soon enough we were starving and having done our bit to clean up our waterways headed into Boonah for breakfast

Who ever said carp don't fight hasn't caught one. It was a relaxing weekend although the kip I just had was better :whistle:

My boat was running good when I first arrived at the dam so I shot up the back and fourth cast with the tn60 I got this little fella, 32cm

I made my way back to the basin where Grant and I had some luck on our previous trip. On my way out of the bay the oil pump decided to fry so I dropped the pick and had a nossy at the motor, not that I have any idea whats going on in there. While sitting there I had a worm out the back and got this fella at 36cm

Then these suspects showed up for the afternoon session...

We woke to a fairly perfect morning with minamal wind, but decided to pack up early and hit toms carp hole where we all got onto some fish

Good weekend and good company. Looking forward to doing all again.

looks like a sweet short trip guys. Stonker of a carp there KAF. I've been reading that they're pretty good to catch on light gear when they get that big.

They do go hard Henry. While the boys were ginning about up top I had one hit me on fly and got owned in about half a second. Yet again a massive fail in the fresh gor me with the wand, might just stick to chasing gt's with it :blush:
