Went down to my favourite pontoon looking for a bull shark.

Just used pillies on 6/0 gang hooks.

Managed a catfish at 52cm and another at 54cm, and my suprise of the afternoon was a 108cm Pike Eel. Nasty critter....kept trying to bite the pliers while I was getting the hook out. It was my first Pike eel, I was suprised at how much of a fight they put up.

Does anyone know how big do Pike Eels get?

A lot bigger than that one

Terry has a good photo of one that clocked in at 1.7m and one thats even a little bigger.

They apparantly grow to 2.5m but i have not seen one that big. Not so sure id like to either
