how to?poppers in talle creek

took the boys to tallebudgera creek land-based fishing on weekend,trying bait,tt swtchbades i and they caught nothing,several attempts here have left the boys very bored fishing here.nice spot,but wheres the fish.anyhow i degress i threw a pink r2s popper and nothing seemed to happen,it stayed on top of the water when i reeled it in,we tried dropping it at our feet in water to see what it does,but it just seemed to float.can anyone give me a heads up on this please.

okay mate cast out nice and long now with you rod tip just bring it back towars u wind up the slack and do it again do about 4 or 5 bloops let it sit and repeat will get a you tube video up hopefully it helps

there if footage on youtube how to work surface lures, you'll be amazed how simple it is once you do i ya few times.

its a popper you have to make it pop

cast it out and wind up the slack

point your rod tip at the lure and jerk the rod to the side about a half a meter

then wind up the slack and do it again

keep doing it till the lure gets belted or it comes back

You've gotta work it and make it splash and "pop" on the surface.

Work your rod down/across and retrieve until you get the lure splashing like a fleeing baitfish or prawn...

A little like this...

Don't forget to add a pause or two...

I have had good results on poppers with using them like a SP. Keep at it mate, the results will come.
