Hey guys

A couple of mates and I, are looking for somewhere to camp on the water preferably somewhere down the Gold coast. I'm after a spot that dad can launch the boat, and we can be camping on the water, so we can keep an eye on it sort of thing and can just leave it in the water, as we won't have a car to tow it. Was thinking Wave Break Island, just pack the tinny and head over there, but heard it can get very busy? How much camping room is there etc. Any help would be great

never camped at wave break looking at google maps it looks like there is tonnes of room there

heaps of room there dan you will have a ball camp on the northern end its a good spot for camping.

i'd think u will find a spot on wavebrake as long as its not a long weekend or public holiday .

i did a google search on wavebrake island today ,Australia day videos came up crazy stuff .

now i know why i stay home Australia day .

This is a good topic Dan. I was under the impression there was no camping on any of the Broady islands...but if wavebreak is allowed I guess they are all allowed. Would be good to be able to beach camp for free. Gives me a lot more options now. Loving it.

Funny you mention the no camping topic - in my Beacon to Beacon it says 'No Camping' on Wavebreak. Mentioned it to some of the crew last weekend and they said they've never had a problem so it's either allowed or isn't enforced. Great spot to camp and FREE!!!!!!
