queensland a sunday fish

well bro rang me friday about fishing but i was having a big beer day ,then he rang Saturday but we had some stuff to do.so he rang Sunday and third time lucky ,lets go fishing .

decided to take the canoe out as it hasn't been used since Somerset ,think that was back july last year .

so off to boggy we head on the water by 3pm with a 3:15 p high tide .

so while is set the canoe up ,bro cast nets up live bait .second cast he gets a 35 c flathead ,we take this as a good omen that it will be a good fishing arvo .so by 3:30 we are in our spot and start drifting and drifted the sand banks all arvo.

bro had a funny arvo ,lip hooked bait the fish bit the guts out ,hook in the back the fish bit the head off.it went on like this all arvo for him ,ending in a doughnut .

me i'm the catfish king ,caught half a dozen cat fish between 30 and 40 cm .kept me entertained for the arvo .

i tried lip hooked bait a couple of time but just lost them ,so stayed with hooks in the back .

most the time we don't get many cat fish in boggy ,but today was different .

so all in all a nice arvo and got out for a fish .

Sounds like a lovely day on the water mate, and those catties can get very interesting. We like-wise had a quiet fish Sunday arvo for not much gain, but an entirely calming and entertaining afternoon none-the-less.
