queensland My very first fishing trip... Yella!!! 03/1997

14 years ago my brother and i flew down to canberra to spend our holidays with my uncle who's a bit of a keen fisherman. having never fished before i was quite stoked to give it a go, never looked back since.

i have been looking for these photos for a few years now.

not bad for my first time fishing... don't remember the measurement on it, any guesses?

They didn't have photos yet when I started out :whistle: :silly: but I recall a massive flattie on a soldier crab at the mouth of Bell's Creek Caloundra when winding it in around 1970. I recall the old man hanging over me very nervous I would lose it

I can still remember my first catch like it was yesterday, a good size bream easily 30 plus down in Victoria at Lakes Entrance, about 6-7 years ago.

wow you to have some good memories fishing as boys. Eug that must be a great memory for you. I can remember vividly when my Uncles took me out fishing.

I can still remember my first fish, was about 1976 I think, a decent flathead at Cribb island, which no longer exists- I think its now the site of Brisbane airport!

i can't remember my exact first fish ,would have been bream ,whiting or Flathead ,from peel or Morton island .

yeah ,good back in them days ,heaps of room to park boats and swim /snorkel .

think its been way too long since i have camped there ,back around 2000 for Morton and 2006 for peel.
