Freshwater advice

After reading all the freshwater reports recently I have decided to give it a crack for the first time. I have spent many hours searching previous threads to get info but was wondering if anyone out there had any essential tips & tricks they were willing to share eg. what lures to start with, techniques etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Find snag, throw lure at snag, pull fish from snag...

Nah seriously, I can only suggest lures, I've had the most luck with shallow running chubbies, berkley 3b's, super bass lures, poppers, surface walkers, and lipless cranks.

Cast around any fallen timber or over hanging banks.

Hey mate. Crankbaiits (40-65mm shallow & medium divers), spinnerbaits (1/8 & 1/4), and vibes are my go-to lures for the fresh......and surface lures, but that's another story

Also try the 38 & 40 mm Atomic Hardz, anything in green and blue/purple have worked well.

Also the Daiwa TD or SC Shiners are pretty sweet !
