Went for a fish by myself last night at the river mouth. Have only hit the wharves twice before and both times got squire around 42cm, so was confident of more success. HEAPS of ships in so I didn't go as far along as the other times (will use that as my excuse!!!).

To cut to the chase, and tie in with the title, I am happy to report that you can stop fearing that the beloved catfish and shovel nose have not been washed to New Zealand!!!!!! Caught 6 catties and one shovel. After the first few catties I started convincing myself the next couple felt 'like a real fish' but all to no avail!!!!

Got back to the ramp and the talk was that it was quiet allround which sort of made me happy in a dark sort of way (at least no one else was catching any ....).
