Stop Gillard's Carbon Tax [tandrews@menzieshouse.com.au]

Thu 5/05/2011 1:13 PM

Hi Geoff

We are winning. Every opinion poll shows it.

Every job-creator is against it. It's obvious: Australia does not want this destructive, unnecessary carbon tax.

But the Gillard-Brown government still doesn't get it. Which is why we need to make a message in public, and in force.

This saturday, thousands of Queenslanders will be gathering outside the Queensland Parliament House to say: NO CARBON TAX!

On Saturday the 7th of May at 11.30am, outside the front of Queensland Parliament House on the corner of Alice Street and George Street, we will be standing up against the Carbon Tax.

The Carbon Tax is going to dramatically harm families. It will push up electricity prices, fuel prices and overall cost of living. It will harm many employees and business owners in hundreds of different industries. It will also fail to do anything to resolve the issue of climate change and it will fail to establish how much of the change in climate is Australia’s responsibility.

Speakers at this rally will be:

Senator Eric Abetz – Leader of the Opposition in the Australian Senate

Scott Driscoll – from the United Retailers Federation and LNP Candidate for Redcliffe

Hajnal Ban – Councillor from Logan City Council

John Humphreys – Economist from the University of Queensland

Jennifer Marohasy – Climate Scientist from Central Queensland University

Gary Hardgrave – Master of Ceremonies for the Rally, Radio Host in Brisbane.

Natalie Keys

This will be a great day - and we will win, but we need your support!

We need to stand up for ourselves and tell the Gillard/Brown government that we will not accept this tax. Julia Gillard promised that there would not be a carbon tax under the government she led. With the influence of the Greens, Julia Gillard lied to the Australian people. We need to stop Bob Brown and Julia Gillard in their tracks.

Thank you for your support and all your efforts to secure a free and prosperous Australia for generations to come

Breakfast at Logan with the Austackle/AFO crew, then drop the goodies at home and head into the city. Good way to kick off the weekend.

Might even pick up a short stroker at Austackle to put a placard on B) ..(or maybe a gaf   )

Stopping the carbon tax is as good as a decent pay-rise.

What do I look like: lots of gray on top, lots of gray on the chin, other places would be "too much information" :pinch:

If they have a vote for something we are in favour of,put 2 hands up (one for me) :)
