*** Due to current forestry harvesting, the modified access route to Lake Lenthall is as follows :

west along the Warrah Road (from the Bruce Highway), north-east along Top Road and then west along Dam Road. Signage provided by Forestry Plantations Queensland is in place. ***

Lake Lenthall is in the Wongi State Forest, 36km south-west of Hervey Bay, and is the primary reservoir for the city’s water supply.

For those wanting a peaceful fishing or picnicking experience, the lake is open from 6am to 8pm. Fishing permits are required and can be obtained by phoning the Department of Primary Industries and Fisheries on 13 25 23.

The State government maintained road into the lake from the Bruce Highway is unsealed and does require care and low speeds. A 4WD is recommended during wet conditions.

From WBW website.

The road is ok as long as you take it slowly. It can get badly chopped up in the wet when the local 4wd cowboys come out and play.

I have never had any problems with both a kia rio and a 2wd hilux ute towing a boat in.

Cheers

Ray
