Hi All, went out to Sunshine reef yesterday and ended up with 3 nice snapper, a large Flathead, mac tuna and cobia. The snapper and flathead were caught on plastics (4inch flick baits and 7 inch gulps on 3/4 oz jig head in 30 mtrs of water. The cobia and Mac tuna were caught on live Yakkas. I also lost a huge cobia that swallowed a legal squire at the boat, I estimate it was about 30kg. It took off and peeled about 60mtrs of 14lb line before dropping the fish. WHAT A BUZZ!

photos are not too good as I was solo and in a hot bite for about an hour. On the water at 6am and home by 9:30 am.

Daveylad, best sessions this time of year at Sunshine Reef are early morning, on the tide change around bait schools! hit the southern side of the reef directly out from Sunrise and sound around the edges untill you find some decent bait schools. Stay away from the northern end as it is flogged!
