queensland River Bully Sesh 09/10/11

My bro and I hit up the river today, to chase the bullys again. I struggled to get good size bonys throughout the day, but managed to get enough to keep us going. We would of had atleast 10 runs in the session and 4 hookups. My bro got a bully around a metre right up to the boat, and whilst trying to tail grab it, the hook came lose and off he swam. I managed to land one bully, which went 93cm and a new pb.

Good stuff, i think you went past us at kookaburra park yesterday avo.

What time did you have success? What was the tide doing? We were there from about 12 to 4:30 and didnt have any runs, had boney bream out on nylon coated trace. Beginning to think im doing something wrong.

What rig were you guys using?

We were on the right hand sort of bank at kookaburra, i waved when you guys went past in the boat because i recognised the shirt.

How heavy duty was the setup you were using?

Oh yeah. Had a few setups, one with 6lb, 10lb, and another with 40lb haha. All with a 50lb nylon coated wire trace..

we use 3/0 - 7/0 for small bullies....6m-1.2m,

med bullies 7/0 - 11/0.....1.2m1.8m

large bullies 11/0 - 16/0....1.8m what ever size

and hubge bullies 16/0-24/0

Good video Dan bullies are a lot of fun do ever go up past Johnson's rock . If so have you seen those tarpon wesfish talked about it would be a fun trip catching tarpon on plastics then using them to catch bullies.

Just ate some shark for the first time in a while the other day and forgot who darn good it is. Teachers at work were a bit nonplussed when they asked what I was heating up in the microwave!!!!
