sun i did landbased to start off on sunday. got a few more bullies first up early on.

during one fight the shark on the end of the line went absolutly crazy like....balistic crazzzy....was like a lawn mower hitting a brick it was just great and the rod loaded up and heap more weight was seemed to have jumped on the hook and then a rather dead fight,i land the shark to find that during the fight another shark has given his brother a love bite on the head.

I used to live just near there and there was always sharks in the warmer months in the fresh they don't need floods to get there just big tides they can only get as far as the first weir

Thats crazy, They must've pushed up in the floods to get that far up and there must be a thriving population to  Oh and the shark bite across the face is pretty cool to B)

And to think I think nothing of dangling the legs over the side of the yak up there ;) might have a crack at them one day up there on the yak :cheer: Nice one Mick.

Yeah Ant! Dangle dem legs and twiddle your toes.....!!!

I might have to pack the baitrunner 3500 next time we are up that way, maybe thats why we found that new shinny 5.0 up near the top?

Awesome stuff!

   thats not as far as they can get tugger :P:lol: well with a helping hand they make it further :silly: :silly: plus the floods happened mid summer and the young guys were catching them between the first and second weir, so a good chance a fair few pushed up stream of weir during the floods.. their natural range before crosby was twin bridges and past where wivenhoe is now ;)

Great report Mick, brings back a lot of memories.

We lived up there before moving to the Coast, can remember helping my grandfather run nets in that area "yes i know how bad that sounds but it is true i am afraid, just a sign of the times back then".

It was amazing some of the species caught and how big some of the sharks were, cheers wayne
