Hi all, so after 3 weeks of short, costly, donut sessions I'm finally back on the board.

Went for a quick flick trying to attract a few bass on surface offerings.

Tied on a river 2 sea cicada and off I went.

First cast noticed a big tell tale bow wave following the lure, paused... the fish took a swipe but missed. Threw it out again, with a bit of longer pause this time and whack.

Not the biggest specimen, but it sure was nice to feel the fight of angry bass again .

Tried a couple more spots a bit further up and had plenty of strikes but no more hook ups.

Might go back tomorrow after work.

Did you only try surface lures mate? Just wondering if divers might have converted a few more strikes...

Yeah only bought down a few surface scratches, was being specific.

Normally I take a mix, but I've lost quite a few lures and a heap of fish due to a new braid I've been trying (so not happy and will be sticking with power pro from now on.)

Good to see you back onto them again I took a surface lure (rubbery cicada I have had for ages) down the other arvo and had my first surface strike there but didn't manage to hook up. It was awsum to see the fish smash the surface.
