A bit of fun in the Pine

I threw a couple of crap pots in late yesterday and went back early this morning to bring them in. Only had the 2 pots but managed a good size buck which weighed in a 1.5kgs. There were 5 others all under so didnt even check what sex they were but it's looking good on the crabbing front for the Pine.

Before I checked the pots I hit up some snags I know hold jacks. I bought this Sebile Koolie minnow LL90 just for the job but hadn't had any luck with it yet. I could see a bit of bait movement so threw it right into the timber using a Curado baitcaster loaded with 30lb braid and 20 lb fluoro leader and a locked up drag.

After about 5 casts it got absolutely smashed but I pulled the hooks trying to muscle it out. After a few more minutes of throwing I got another hit. Not as powerful but still had a bit of run. I got it out into the open and saw the silver flashing just under the surface and up popped a little trev which punched above it's weight. May not have been the jack I was after but a good first fish on the Koolie.

Thanks guys.

Reel mate, hopefully we can hook into to them after your impending arrival. It was good to pop the cherry on that lure... I had to save it from snag heaven about 6 time today so karma must have been on my side.

Freshy, the Pine is my local haunting ground so Ive probably seen you out there without knowing. We should line something up... compare snags and try these hard bodies some more as I havent really been using them long and the Jacks will only get better!!
