Leccy Question

Hey all

this may be a strange question but....

I am looking at a Minkota for the boat but as I have a runabout there is no real way of mounting it.

So I am looking at a transom mount - can anyone tell me if it is feasible to run an iPilot on a transom mounted Leccy?

I would really like to use spot lock etc for the reefs instead of constantly anchoring etc

A transom style minn kota does not have the electric steering so that in itself would rule out any chance of ipilot working with it, let alone any other limiting features.

Thats a bugger. I have been wondering how the spot lock would work out on the reef as well. I'm guessing the waves would throw it around a fair bit and it would be constantly working.

Would be working constantly to hold your position which is not a huge drama but you would be stern on the wind and swell as it pulls the boat back to position and not pushing it.

Runabouts can have some pretty wicked transformations to the front to fit electrics.

You can do a bow mount on a run-about. Eug has one. It just requires someone with a will to do it for you. Eug has a thread on here about his.

I will make sure you can see the bow mount when we photograph his 108cm barra today.
