Are you using a Ram mount?

I dont know much about fixing things to Yaks but i use these Thread inserts called Nutserts all the time and i recon they would be great for that sort of thing. They come in all sorts of sizes but a 5mm or 6mm Stainless nutsert would be great for that application i recon. Here is a link to a company that sell them but you can buy them everywhere or if you live near the Redlands i can chuck some in for you.

A wet mount system is a little bit more work but I prefer it over sticking the transducer to the yaks hull. I used a wet mount system in mine its great I can take it out at the end of the day and put it back on my tinny and when fitting it I didn't have to worry about air bubbles.

Used a children's high density foam kick-board. Marked around the transducer, cut it out and siliconed it to the inside hull.

Now when I use it I just poor some water into the hole, push the transducer in and its ready to go.

Hi mac, I used Selleys All Clear when I did mine a couple of years ago.

I have a tempo also, I fitted my transducer in as a wet mount,I placed mine a little further into the middle from that hatch.I placed mine that way in case I ever needed to store/put some thing in the hatch.I glued a tupperware container to the floor on the other side to sit the battery in.

I have my F/finder mounted in the same place as you have done. What I did so that I didn`t have leads/wiring over the top of the tempo, was I fitted a large bung with the screw in plug fitting, just behind the f/finder and run my cables inside the tempo and out through the bung to the back of the F/finder.

I bought a rubber plug to suit and drilled a hole length ways, and then cut through the side of the plug so that when I bring the cables through the hole I slot the plug around the cables and push into the bung hole and its water tight, with no cables on top to get hooked up on things.
