well it started off great finally took off in the boat around 5.30pm 2 hours later than we hoped. as it was getting dark we moored off macleay island to finish the trip to the pin the next day. so the moment the anchor was dropped my line was in the water and after about an hour of waiting i caught my dinner a nice bream. after about 3 more hours of nothing i decided to go to bed and try again early. so i woke up to find the boat sitting on a sand bar, wasnt expecting such a low tide, but after a couple hours the tide was back up and we were off again. about an hour later just before the canapia passage the outboard starts whirring and the gearbox is blown. a call to the coast guard saw us waiting for about 3 hours for a tow and my wife picked up a 42cm squire while we waited. so all in all it was a very short very dissapointing fishing trip. never mind there is always next time.

That sucks mate at least you had nice food.Any pics the boat stranded on the sand?

the thought just crossed my mind that if you, me and ted all went out together they'd have to raise a new tax to deal with what could happen when all the bad luck combined.

Nice squire for that area. Gotta be happy with that

Let me get this straight, "the gearbox is blown. a call to the coast guard saw us waiting for about 3 hours for a tow" so you had to fish for 3 hours.

I don't see the problem.

yeah it was no real problem except that apart form that 1 squire there wasnt even a bite
